More park courts than centre court
Hi, I’m Oliver — the voice behind most of what you’ll read on Tennis Blog. I’ve been hooked on this game for over 15 years, ever since I first picked up a racket on a cracked council court and spent a summer trying (badly) to keep a rally going. I never made it to the pro tour — I’m a club and park player, the same as most of the people I write for — but few people have spent more hours on, beside, or talking about a tennis court than I have.
That everyday-player perspective is the whole point. I’m not here to dazzle you with jargon or pretend every reader is training for Wimbledon. I write the guides I wish I’d had when I started: how to hold the racket, how scoring actually works, which shoes won’t wreck your feet, and where to find a court near you. Practical, honest, and in plain English.
Everything I publish is written from genuine experience as a player and fan, double-checked against current rules and reliable sources, and updated when the game changes. If something here helps you get on court more often, I’ve done my job.
